Kota Kinabalu is the main entry point in Borneo from the Malaysian side. There is not much you can do in the city but it's also the starting point for trips on Mount Kinabalu. The mountain has the top pick at 4,095 meters and is one of the highest in South East Asia. This is also the reason why many people attempt the climb. There is only one agency that manages the park so prices are very expensive. To make it worse everything is sold in minutes because other agencies buy in order to sell more expensive. The usual package is for 2 days and 1 night but there are some with 3 days 2 nights. If you want something more special you can do Via Ferrata when going down and that was the highlight of our time there.
