One of the many Nakhl found in Yazd. It's name in both Persian and Arabic means palm tree. The leaf shape is very similar with the one of regular cypress tree which Iran is famous for. During festival of Ashura a huge Nakhl is decorated with black fabrics, daggers, swords and mirrors. It will than be carried on shoulders through the crowds.
