Colombia has a very diverse geography with two coastlines on different oceans, tropical forests and peaks of over 5,000m.
A great effort is put into protecting the nature with more than 50 areas classified as national natural parks. Some of them can be visited independently, most with a guide and some are completely closed to tourists.
